Why do I need a custom fit helmet?
You'll really enjoy a helmet that fits better, is well ventilated, and is as light as possible. By removing excess materials with our custom fit system and using proprietary polymer, we're making a helmet unlike what you've ever used before. We have three decades of experience in helmet design and guarantee to deliver a helmet that makes no compromise, at all.
Do you offer a warranty?
We have a 5 year warranty on all our helmets. For bike helmets, read about our crash replacement program. For hockey helmets, read about our fit-to-grow program. We offer both of these programs to supplement our 5 year warranty.
How do I measure my head?
We want you to feel confident putting your head in our hands. You have two choices for getting your measurements: (1) you can buy a fit kit by itself, do the fitting, ask any questions you might have, and then buy your helmet or (2) you can buy the helmet, and we’ll ship your fit kit free. Either way, one of our fit technicians will guide you through everything you need to know, all from the comfort of your own home.
What is the delivery time?
Our helmet takes 2 weeks to go through the production process. However, this number can change depending on the length of our queue. Check our banner for more information on the most current lead times.
Do you ship to my country? Why not?
At the moment we are only shipping to the US but we are planning to introduce international shipping very soon. While we’re great engineers, we’re not great at filling out custom forms. We decided that we’d launch in the US so we could start feeding ourselves again and then get our certifications and logistics in place so that international customers have a positive experience.
Where is KAV based?
We are based out of Redwood City, CA. Every aspect of the helmet is designed, tested, and made in California with almost all domestically sourced materials. The cage for the hockey helmet is manufactured overseas given the limited number of suppliers who can meet our exacting standards.
Do you accept returns?
Given the custom nature of the product, we are not able to accept returns. If you have any issues with your helmet at all, please don’t hesitate to contact us at service@kavsports.com and we will work with you to make it right.
How do I get my helmet?
All you have to do is select your helmet and let us know what name to personalize it with. After that, we’ll be sending you a confirmation email with next steps and a fit kit in the mail to take your measurements.
